Bangkok Art Culture Centre building

Art, music, theater, film, design: where else can you find so much at once? Certainly at the Bangkok Art and Culture Center, where cultural and educational events are constantly organized. It is a place that was created to bring together different cultural aspects in one place, creating an extremely interesting place that will satisfy everyone’s curiosity. In short, it is the perfect place to spend an afternoon discovering Bangkok’s current cultural scene, away from the urban chaos.

Origins and description

The project was initiated by Governor Bhichit Rattakul and construction began in 1995. Despite a long and eventful journey, hampered by financial and political problems, the museum was completed in 2008. It is a nine-story structure organized around a circular main atrium. The exhibition with which the center was inaugurated is of fundamental importance: the exhibition “Always Roaming with a Hungry Heart” was intended to demonstrate and highlight the attachment of the Thai people to the country’s royal family.

From the seventh to the ninth floor there are various exhibition spaces where different exhibitions are organized throughout the year.

The aim of all this is to create a meeting point for artists and to offer a rich cultural program for both the local community and tourists visiting the city, seeking to enhance the local culture, to be open to dialogue and discussion and to encourage public and private initiative.
